EMPOWERING AND
UNITING DALLAS
More About Katelyn Logie

I come from a working-class family that has always valued hard work, perseverance, and integrity. In the 1980s, my father moved to the Midland–Odessa area for work, and when I was a child, I was hospitalized multiple times due to environmental hazards from a nearby refinery. We simply couldn’t afford to move. Those early experiences shaped my understanding of how working families often bear the risks of industry — and they continue to drive my passion for fairness and justice.
I’ve worked hard my entire life. Before becoming an attorney, I spent a couple of years in my early 20s working long shifts in the South Texas oilfield. This job was not in an office — it was in the field itself. I wore a hard hat, fire-retardant coveralls, and steel-toe boots, and lived in trailers for weeks at a time. I was one of very few women in the field. That experience gave me a deep appreciation for those who work tirelessly to provide for their families.
From working in the oilfield to waiting tables at night while attending college full-time, I’ve always worked hard to achieve my goals while staying true to my values. My time in the oilfield helped me save to pursue my childhood dream of becoming an attorney. Now, in my mid-30s, those same principles of hard work, fairness, and service to others now guide my legal career.
I’m running for Justice of the Peace because I believe our courts should reflect the same compassion, understanding, and fairness that real life teaches — the kind you learn from years of showing up, doing the work, and treating people with dignity, no matter who they are or what they do for a living.
