EMPOWERING AND
UNITING DALLAS
Why I am Running...
I am running because our community deserves a court that is fair, efficient, and accessible. These courts touch people’s lives in profound ways, and I am committed to using my legal expertise to ensure that justice in Dallas County Precinct 5 is delivered with knowledge, integrity, and compassion.

Why run for this court?
I’m running for this court because I genuinely care about how people experience the justice system, and I believe it works best when it is guided by both knowledge and kindness.
Justice of the Peace courts handle thousands of cases that directly affect people’s daily lives, including housing, credit card debt, and lawsuits up to $20,000. Those decisions require a judge who understands the law and applies it fairly.
I’m Katelyn Logie, a Dallas attorney and candidate for Dallas County Justice of the Peace, Precinct 5, Place 2 in the 2026 Democratic primary.
I’m running because everyone deserves to be treated with respect and I believe my extensive knowledge of the law will benefit the people of Dallas if I am elected to serve.
I’m a small business owner with vast courtroom, civil litigation, and criminal law experience. I have practiced law longer than any opponent and have tried more cases in Dallas courts. I announced my candidacy in early June 2025. My campaign focuses on fairness, kindness, and public trust in local courts.
I am a grassroots candidate. This is my first time running for an elected office. I am not politically well connected but I am a hard worker. I worked a blue-collar job for years in order to pay for law school and waited tables at night while working on my undergraduate degree.
One of my favorite sayings is, “Be the change you wish to see.”
I will be on the ballot for the 2026 Dallas County Democratic Primary Election.
